The hills are alive....

I'll explain the title in a minute.  Clearly there are no hills on Brick Lane or, possibly, in East London.  In fact I can't remember the last time I climbed a hill.  But, look!  How adorable is this girl?  In a fairly simple little outfit but with very interesting proportions, the building blocks of great style..  And, wait for it....she made this skirt herself....from a pair of vintage CURTAINS (you see where this is going now).  Gorgeous....

And no, I can't, I just can't resist.................play clothes made from CURTAINS!

(Apologies to all who have never seen this movie and are therefore utterly baffled)

  9. . . . with the sound of music, with songs they have song, for a thousand years. . .

Totally get the reference, Jennifer. In fact: (true story) I sang that song at a singing contest for Lori Traikos's birthday party aged 7. I won. My friend Debbie, I later learned, told 'everyone' that she didn't know why I won because I 'sounded like an 80 year old.'

Just got in - hot hot hot - but had to reply, thank you for your comment. You crack me up (watch: I'll forget. Then it won't be so funny).

Anyway: your post. I love her vintage curtains skirt. And how in the world did you find that shot of Julie Andrews?

Another curtain fashion moment in film: Scarlett O'Hara, in Gone with the Wind. With God as my witness, I"ll never go hungry again.

Speaking of: fish fingers beckon. xo

  13. I'm going to assume most people are joking, but seriously, if you haven't seen The Sound of Music, you need to! Julie Andrews, making play clothes for the children, out of curtains! Brilliant x
